Dutch Oven?

So, I made this Pumpkin Rosemary Soup last night...
Mmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!
Sound good?
Try it right HERE!!!
and just so you don't have to google "dutch oven" like I did, I'll go ahead and tell you what it is.  A "real" dutch oven happens to be (from Wikipedia)
A Dutch oven is a thick-walled (usually cast ironcooking pot with a tight-fitting lid. Dutch ovens have been used as cooking vessels for hundreds of years.
but also found on Wikipedia, the only version of a dutch oven that I, personally, was familiar with:
dutch oven is a fart chamber (a contained area of flatus) created by pulling a blanket over some one's head and breaking wind. The phrase is a slang description based on the cooking action of a Dutch oven where food is cooked and steamed inside a closed chamber. Performing a Dutch oven creates an area of foul-odored air in an enclosed space that must be inhaled.[1] This is done as a prank or by accident to one's sleeping partner.[2][3]
I was only familiar with the 2nd dutch over-Trust me, go for the "real" dutch oven for the soup!!
A pan will work, we didn't have a dutch oven.  I also used vegan bacon.
This soup is SOOOO good, it's seriously worth going to the site and making it!!
We've had the most fabulous week here in Michigan, the sun is out, the temps in the mid to high 60's...Ahhh, if only it would stay this way for the next 3 months!
Have a great weekend and let me know if you try the soup!!

Everything Brittle...

No, I'm not talking about brittle bones... I found this in the little free paper that comes to the house & thought I'd post it, sounds YUMMY!
Everything Brittle
2 cups water
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup raw pumpkin seeds
1/4 cup cashews (if your husband hasn't eaten them all- Grr!)
1/4 cup crushed peanuts
1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
Cover a shallow cookie sheet (one with a lip all the way around, is there such thing as one where the lip doesn't go all the way around? I thought that was kinda weird) with tin foil & lightly oil it.
In a lg. saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add sugar & cream of tartar, stir until just mixed & wait until mixture starts to bubble & caramelize.
Add remaining ingredients & stir until threads appear. Remove from heat & IMMEDIATELY pour onto the tin foil. Let cool for at least 15-20 min. before breaking up & letting your husband/kids/friends scarf it down!

Darling daughter & I are going to make Mexican Hot Chocolate Cookies this weekend, I'll take pictures & let you know how it goes!
Tonight the Mister & I have some fancy schmancy Christmas dinner & a show... He's hunting right now & darling & I are off to a craft show to see what's hot in Christmas crafts. I sure hope it's not a lot of that plastic canvas gunk...
Happy Saturday!
