Wish I had a place to wear these...

who's been watching too many episodes of "The Real Housewives"?

 Just kidding, I was never great on the whole roller skate thing! When you have to run into the wall to stop, you probably won't be going Pro!

But usually only have a place to wear these:

for the record these babies are SILK and like $56! For slippers?  Seriously, I buy slippers $12 or less... I go through slippers like crazy!  We don't wear shoes in the house, we live in a winter wonder (?) land, and my feet are like ice cubes on the ends of my ankles, so you'll never have to see/smell these feet bare!  

Ok, on to my lower lever project which is in full swing! I dropped off a trunk-full at Goodwill yesterday and plan on making that the first of many Goodwill drops!

Yarn, and sweaters and cupcakes, OH MY!

So much yarny, sweatery goodness!!  Seriously these 2 ladies come up with THE BEST DIY Projects!!!

  I think even I can do this! Don't judge if I use a glue gun instead of a zipper though...you know who you are!

and you know me...not so crafty with a sewing machine, much better at "hookin'" it... that's the word on the street anyway!

Ok, I'm off and running for the day...I've got a major re-do of my lower level! I started going thru my pictures yesterday and had a mini panic attack...SO many pictures....so, so many!  I decided I have to move my photo stuff OUT of my studio and set up an area for JUST scrapbooking...wish me LUCK!

and...if you see an old Volvo wagon loaded down like the Beverly Hillbillies...it's just ME headed to Goodwill!

Anyone else doing the New Year cleanse?

 You know I have very little pride, I mean, I've already told you I tried to run in a 401K, I showed you pictures of me channeling Christian Sirano

WHAT?

 So why would I not share this... 

I've been trying to sweep my home with a vacuum that has a broken belt... ever tried it?  Let me tell you, it's a waste of time!  I thought my vac was just a piece of junk, it picked up NOTHING!  I, literally, was sweeping with the tiny little attachment and picking up large bits.  Sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees!

 You might think I tried this for a few days.... but I'm ashamed to admit it's been MONTHS and MONTHS! Why I didn't ask the Mister to take a look at it, I'll never know!  I just kept rubbing it over the carpet and watching it pick up NOTHING! 

 I have these thick wool rugs 

see all the little indention's in this rug, you do NOT even want to know how full of bits they were AND we don't wear shoes in our house, it was HORRID!

Seriously, it's going to take a few days to get all the lint and fuzz off this baby!

They (the rugs) shed like a Siberian Husky (one of the worst shedding dogs according to google).

What my nightmares are made of:

Anywhooo, after finally have a nervous breakdown, I went to the Mister and told him I just could not take it anymore!  I was going to need back surgery in a month if I didn't quit bending over to pick up every tiny bit of stuff on the rugs!  Don't ya know, he flipped the vac over, removed the broken belt, bought a new one for $5 and we are BACK IN BUSINESS!!  Guess who has been vacuuming ever since like a crazy woman...

Yep, THE crazy woman!

 I found it in my Darlings backpack... there's a wood chip, foil, candy wrappers? a purple bit of feather? a strand of her hair...and something that is holding it all together... Ewww!

3. My tree is still up and I over "color corrected", don't judge! 

Yes, that's my wrapper keeper on the left.  It is full of Christmas paper I got in the 90's for .50 a roll, it's never going to go away and I hate it...

4. I'm making Theodore a new sweater.  My counts got off, really off, but I don't think he'll mind...

5. a new skirt to wear with my new leg warmers...Yep, I said it:

I'm dreaming of some HOT weather...

So, it wasn't scalding in FL, in fact, the first 2 days we were there we had the heat and coats ON!

Here we are headed to our 1st day at Disney with my parents, notice the NON-Florida clothing!
AND the frost scraped off the car!!!!!

Don't forget your gloves when visiting Florida!!

...and then I saw it!!!!!!!

The Magic Kingdom!!!  

The last time I was there, I was so excited I threw up my orange juice on the blue shag carpet in our Blue Jeans Van (Blue Jeans Van post...click here!).  You know yellow and blue make green, so that was the new color of the carpet where i puked!

 We went to It's a Small World... it was just as cute as I remember!!! We rode this both days we were at the park, it's TOO CUTE.  Darling and I decided we'd like to get outta the boat and just live there.  I asked Darling if she thought when we moved in we should kill the music before it drove us nuts and she said "definitely, cause it's kinda already making me crazy!"

We stayed for the Electric Street Parade

 and the way they light up the castle at night is UNbelievable!!  It was beyond gorgeous and my picture just does not do it ANY justice at all...

So all in all, the vacation, though not the hottest, was wonderful!!  I always consider a vacation a success when the plane doesn't crash- don't you?!

I've got lots to tell you: DIY's, new inventory for chinamommy and the Misters new "diet"....

Who's a big girl?

Me, that's who! As most of you know, I am no fan of being over 30,000 feet in the air in a metal tube.  Let me just say, we had 2 GREAT flights and I (after 1/2 a xanex each way) was very calm!!  My Darling daughter loves to fly and I don't EVER want to pass my fear onto her!!

Here we go...off to Orlando

Good thing they didn't charge for the bags under my eyes!!  For the record, I did go to bed after midnight and was up at 5!

When we got to Florida we were greeted with CHILLY weather, not what we were hoping for.

I'm swamped with laundry but I'll be back tomorrow to fill you in on our trip!
